Frequently Asked Questions
Do you take insurance?
I am not in network with any insurance companies. I can provide you with a medical receipt you can submit to your insurance for out of network benefits. This requires me to provide a diagnosis. It is your responsibility to talk with your insurance company about your mental health benefits and submit claims.
Holy moly, Batman! Why is it such a high fee?
I understand it’s a large financial investment. I keep my caseload small so that I can give more attention and focus to you. This keeps me from burning out after seeing 35 people a week and allows me to engage in a sufficient amount of self care. It gives me more time to read relevant books, attend trainings, engage in consultation, collaborate with your healthcare providers, or locate additional resources for you.
Do you offer reduced fee or sliding scale?
Yes, I do. These are very limited are reserved for clients who cannot afford my full fee.
Do you see clients in person?
No, I do not. I see clients virtually only. Not enough clients want or can be in person to justify an office space right now.
How often do I have to see you?
New clients should expect to commit to weekly or biweekly sessions for the first three months. After the first three months, we can re-evaluate frequency of sessions.
What if we aren’t a good fit?
That happens. :( If we find we are not a good fit or if your therapeutic needs are beyond my scope of practice (i.e. substance use or eating disorders), I will refer you to a few other therapists.
When do you see clients?
I see clients Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays from 11am-5pm.
